The western side of the hill on which Mandav was built is not that high, it has a slope. To secure this side, the Regency at that time ordered the construction of this gate. According to historians, the highest number of attacks on Mandav have taken place from this side. Considering the number of attacks, 3 km ahead of Jahangirpur Darwaza one more gate was built which was named Bhavanpur
Darwaza. To reach here one has to cross a dense forest and a stream. Now this gate longs to see people. This gate was built with Muslim architecture style similar to Bhagwaniya and Tarapur Darwaza. Like the other gates, this one also has two entry points. The entry and the walls here are so huge that they hide the gate behind them. (Source :- MTPC, Dhar)

जिस पहाड़ी पर माण्डव बसा है, उसका पश्चिमी हिस्सा अन्य हिस्सों की तुलना में अधिक ऊँचा नहीं है। ढलान भरी इस दिशा को सुरक्षित करने के लिए, उस दंवत की राज सता ने जहाँगीरपुर दरवाजे का निर्माण करवाया था। इतिहासकारों का मानना है कि माण्डब में सबसे ज्यादा आक्रमण इसी दिशा से हुए हैं। आक्रमणों की अधिकता को ध्यान में रखते हुए जहांगीरपुर दरवाजे से करीब 3 किलोमीटर दूर, भवानीपुर दरवाजे का भी निर्माण करना पड़ा।
इस दरवाज़े तक पहुँचने के लिए घने जंगलों और नाले से होकर गुज़रना पड़ता है। अन्य दरवाजों की तरह ही इस दरवाज़े मभी दो प्रवेश द्वार है। इस दरवाज़ का प्रवेश द्वार और भव्य दीवारों को इस प्रकार बनाया गया है कि पीठ वाला दरवाज़ा छुप जाता है। उत्तरी दीवार के पास सीढ़ियां बनाई गई है, जो छत तक जाती है। आज यह दरवाज़ा अपनी छत खो चुका है। इस दरवाज़े का मुस्लिम शैली स्थापत्य, भगवनिया और तारापुर दरवाज़े की स्थापत्य शैली से मिलता जुलता है। अमूमन आज वह दरवाज़ा सिर्फ लोगों की भीड़ के इंतजार में रहता है। (Source :- MTPC, Dhar)
