 TAVELI MAHAL ( THE ROYAL STABLE ) :

After entering the royal premises, on the right side is the Taveli Mahal. It is situated on the opposite side of the Jahaz Mahal. Taveli Mahal was the royal family's stable and was called "Tabela". As time passed by this building was called by its current name, Taveli Mahal. The ground floor of this building has three rooms and the outer room is much bigger compared to the other two. This outer room must have served as the stable for horses and the smaller ones at the back must have been used to keep baby horses and fodder.

There is an arcade on the northern side of every room. Just like the ground floor has three rooms similarly the upper floor has three rooms too. There is an open terrace on the top where one can get a beautiful view of the Jahaz Mahal. Today the ground floor of this building serves as the office of Central Archaeological Department and a museum. The upper floor has been converted into a rest house. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, stayed in this rest house. The room which he stayed in has a plaque as a souvenir of his stay. (Source: MTPC, Dhar)

तवेली महल ( शाही अस्तबल ) :

शाही परिसर में प्रवेश द्वार से अंदर जाते ही दाहिने तरफ सबसे पहले तवेली महल बना हुआ है। तवेली महल ठीक जहाज़ महल के सामने स्थित है। शाही परिवार का अस्तबल होने के कारण, उस वक़्त इस महल को 'तबेला' कहा जाता था। समय के साथ-साथ तबेला शब्द का अपभ्रंश होकर तवेली महल हो गया। आज इस महल में केन्द्रीय पुरातत्व विभाग का संग्रहालय और कार्यालय है, जिसका ऊपरी हिस्सा विश्रामगृह में तब्दील कर दिया गया है। इस विश्रामगृह में देश के पहले प्रधानमंत्री पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू आकर रुके थे । जिस कमरे में नेहरू जी रुके थे, वहाँ एक सूचना पट्टिका लगी हुई है। इस दो मंजिला तवेली महल के निचले हिस्से में तीन कमरे बने हुए हैं।

बाहरी कामरा बाकी कमरो की अपेक्षा बड़ा है, सम्भवतः यहाँ घोड़ों को रखा जाता था। शेष दो कमरो का उपयोग घोड़ों के बच्चों और चारा रखने के लिए किया जाता होगा। प्रत्येक कमरे में उत्तर दिशा की तरफ मेहराबनुमा खुला हिस्सा है। निचली मंज़िल की तरह ही, ऊपरी मंज़िल में भी तीन कमरे बने हुए हैं। सबसे ऊपर बनी खुली छत से जहाज़ महल का पूरा मनमोहक दृश्य देखा जा सकता है। (Source: MTPC, Dhar)
