Mandu Rampart Inviolable Defense

Mandu was known as the biggest fort in Asia. The city is situated on the plateau of Malwa and it is a unique example of nature's fortification. The Parmar rulers fortified the city of Mandu . This fortification, on an uneven mountain, was important from a security viewpoint. The Songarh area on the western side of the mountain is crest shaped like a camel's back, whereas the eastern side is a narrow deep trench. The walls that make a perimeter of 45 km were built at a time when guns and canons weren't used in wars. These walls were possibly built to stand against unusual dangers. The northern part was specially reinforced as the main entrance was there. Intruding was not possible because to enter one had to step through the doors making him visible from all sides, The high plateau of Malwa can be seen from the northern side and Nimar ground spread across 300 meters is on the southern side. After the Parmars the Muslim rulers made the rampart stronger with connected walls and doors.

1000 साल पहले दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी आबादी वाले शहर के रूप में ख्यात माण्डव, एशिया के सबसे बड़े किले के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। मालवा के पठार में बसा माण्डव, प्रकृति की नायाब किलाबंदी का अनुपम उदाहरण है। आकार में विषम माण्डव की पहाड़ी के पश्चिम में भानगढ़ का क्षेत्र ऊंट की पीठ की टरह ऊरंचा है, तो वहीं पूरब दिशा में तंग गहरी खाई है। इस पहाड़ी के उत्तर में मालवा का ऊँचा पठार है, तो दक्षिण की ओर 300 मीटर से भी
अधिक गहरा निमाड़ का मैदान फेला है। जिस कारण यह पहाड़ी घुसपैठियों के लिए अगम्य हो जई। परमार शासकों ने इसे और ज्यादा सुरक्षित करने के लिए पत्थरों से किलेबंदी की बी। परमार काल के बाद मुस्लिम शासकों ने इस नाबाद किलेबंदी को और मजबूत बना दिया। करीब 45 किलोमीटर परिधि में बजी दह टीवी उस दत्त खडी की बाई जब युद्ध में बारूद और तोपों का योग भी होता था। संभवत इन दीवारों का निर्माण असामान्य संकटों से २ष करने के लिए किया गया होगा। इस पहाड़ी के उत्तर दिशा में किलेबदी को विशेष व्यवस्था की गई थी। पहाड़ में पहुंचने का यह मुख्य माना था। और इसी दिशा में किले का प्रवेश द्वार भी था। आज भा इस पहाड़ी
पर की गई किलेबंदी को देखा जा सकता है। माण्डव में रक्षा के इतने अधिक तवा जटिल प्रबंध को देखकर फरिश्ता जैसे इतिहासकार ने इसे तकालीन विश्व में अनूठा माना था।
